NCSL's Partnership with Logistics UK

NCSL have an ongoing partnership with Logistics UK via a system called VRC. Tidus Ward, NCSL's Acting Fleet Manager, has given an overview of the journey from inception to present day, and future plans.

"VRC was created by Ian Dunn and Logistics UK as a platform for Logistics and Transport businesses to manage compliance, repairs, and servicing.

When NCSL was contacted by Ian in early 2023, the system was still being developed, and only a few companies were looking at the system as a viable solution to what was already on the market. We instantly saw the benefits of the system and what it could become. The simplicity of the system and how clean it looked without oversaturating the user with superfluous data was the first thing that drew us to it, and the fact that it connected to an app that was already in development really sold it to us. The system planned future servicing events, MOT’s and every ancillary service for each different type of vehicle we had and displayed this in an easy-to-use format.

Within a few weeks of first seeing the platform, NCSL were one of the first companies in the UK to get onboard with VRC and sign up to start using the IT as a solution issues that being paper-based posed at the time.

Over the next 6 months we worked closely with Ian to adapt the system further to our needs. NCSL have paved the way for many changes to the system, from a full reporting suite, to adding bespoke columns of information and changing the way pre-use checks are conducted by the software. We further developed the app with Ian to introduce Health and Safety site inspection checks, vehicle and compliance checks, accident/incident/near miss reporting, and much more.

Development is still ongoing, but after a year of building and continuous growth of the app, we are in a space where we have streamlined processes and saved a tremendous amount of time and energy by no longer using paper-based reporting.

Logistics UK have been brilliant in allowing our vision of the system to be realised, and we are still the only company to have embraced it to such an extent that when they have queries from companies regarding the system, NCSL are now asked to carry out demonstrations and show potential customers how the system can be utilised.

NCSL is very excited to see this software develop further and continue providing innovative digital solutions for the company and its workforce."
