Street Cleansing

NCSL is responsible for cleaning streets, footpaths, pedestrian areas, verges and subways within Norwich.

Busy streets will be swept much more regularly than quiet residential roads. Very busy shopping areas, such as the city centre, are swept throughout the day, six or seven days a week.

This is achieved through:

• Manual sweeping

• Mobile response crews

• Mechanical sweepers 

​

NCSL also carry out reactive works reported to the council, including:​

• Fly-tipping

• Fly-posting

• Dead animals

• Sharps

• Broken glass

• Dog fouling

• Needles, syringes and bodily fluids

• Litter bins
