About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sweeper Drivers (up to 3.5 tonne) to join our service-driven street cleansing team on a permanent contract. This role will be driving and operating a Sub-Compact Sweeper of below 3.5 tonne gross vehicle weight to help maintain and improve the standard of the city streets. About the Role
This role is responsible for ensuring the city's streets are swept, cleaned, and maintained to the required contractual standards. Following a fixed operational schedule, the post holder will drive a Compact or equivalent sweeper, collect and subsequently dispose of waste at the local transfer station, and carry out the role of a manoeuvring assistant when required. Key duties include conducting mandatory digital Pre-use Checks via the VRC App, carrying out daily internal and external washing of the sweeper, and completing all associated paperwork and weekly timesheets. Adhering strictly to Health, Safety, and Welfare legislation, reporting machinery defects to your Team Leader/Chargehand, and addressing public inquiries on-site in a professional, customer-focused manner are essential to this role.

The ideal candidate will be a dependable, reliable, and enthusiastic individual who is capable of carrying out the manual handling tasks associated with the post. A Full UK B category driving licence is essential, C1 categiry is desirable. You must be an excellent communicator, able to understand verbal and written instructions, work under pressure, and perform effectively both as part of a team and on your own initiative with excellent attention to detail. A flexible approach to work, good timekeeping, and a strict commitment to health and safety, equality, and customer care are required.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace, part-time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
