About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for 4 Painters (Trade Operative Level 2) to join the Norwich City Services Limited (NCSL) team on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027. If you are a skilled painter and decorator, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. This role is open to internal applicants only.

About the Role?
This position involves carrying out a wide range of painting, decorating, mould treatment and repair works across Norwich City Council's domestic and commercial properties on behalf of NCSL. The role requires proficiency in Painting and Decorating, all performed independently and efficiently, to provide work of a commercial/high standard. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings and specifications, liaising with supervisors and schedulers, ordering materials, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining excellent customer service standards. The postholder will also support apprentices where appropriate, collaborate with stakeholders, uphold confidentiality, and embody the values of Norwich City Services Ltd.

The ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and possess a City & Guilds Painting & Decorating qualification, recognised apprenticeship, or equivalent experience. Applicants should have extensive experience in painting and decorating to industry standards, alongside sound knowledge of health and safety requirements. Strong organisational and time management skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues are essential. The role also requires the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Desirable qualifications and experience include Asbestos Awareness and CAT B Removal training, ladder training, PDA/mobile device experience, and knowledge of domestic property repairs.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace, part-time hours or a job share arrangement will be considered.
