About the Role
Your primary responsibilities will involve operating compact sweepers and vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes, collecting and disposing of waste, and ensuring the highest standards of street cleanliness. You'll be driving RCV vehicles on a four-days-on, four-days-off shift pattern, providing crucial coverage during holidays and staff absences. The role demands more than just driving – you'll be a key team player, assisting with manoeuvring, reporting proactive works, and collaborating across different service areas to achieve exceptional results.
We're seeking candidates with a full UK driving licence, preferably with a Category C qualification, who bring technical proficiency and a passion for operational excellence. Local geographical knowledge is essential, and experience with mechanical sweepers is highly desirable. Your skills will be put to the test as you conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks, complete comprehensive paperwork, and maintain high-quality cleaning standards across various city locations.
Beyond the technical requirements, we're looking for individuals who embody reliability, enthusiasm, and adaptability. You'll need excellent communication skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to health and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of manual handling tasks, and ready to respond flexibly to operational needs.

Requirements
Full UK Driving License with a minimum of Category C1
Valid CPC card
Evidence of having worked as part of a team
Customer Service experience
Written and Verbal communication skills
Experience of using apps to record vehicle checks
