About the Role

The position entails participation in a service-oriented street cleansing maintenance team. The primary responsibility of this grade 1 role is to uphold and enhance the standards of street cleansing services in Norwich, adhering to the established maintenance program. This includes collaborating with other service areas and reporting daily issues to the team leader, ensuring compliance with the required standards and a predetermined schedule.

Key tasks include emptying street bins, litter picking, pressure washing street furniture, weeding hard surfaces, and sweeping designated locations based on daily operational priorities. Additionally, the role requires the preparation of daily reports for the team leader regarding the condition and cleanliness of each area serviced. Proactive identification and resolution of on-site issues, or escalation to the team leader or chargehand, are essential components of the job.

Candidates must possess a full UK driving license and demonstrate experience in physically demanding roles, as well as teamwork capabilities. A commitment to customer service, adaptability to various weather conditions, and the ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions are also required. Furthermore, adherence to health and safety policies, along with the completion of necessary paperwork and equipment checks, is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment.
