About the Role
Norwich City Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled Grade 3 Operative to join our street cleansing team. This role involves driving and operating compact sweepers and vehicles ranging from 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight. As a Grade 3 Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the standard of the city streets, ensuring cleanliness and safety for all residents and visitors.
Key responsibilities include driving compact sweepers and refuse collection vehicles (RCVs), collecting and disposing of waste at local transfer stations, and assisting with various tasks to meet operational requirements. You will also be expected to perform daily and weekly checks on sweepers, complete necessary paperwork, and report any issues or proactive works required. Additionally, you will work closely with other team members to achieve high-quality results across all services.
To be successful in this role, you must hold a full UK driving licence with a minimum of Category C1, possess a valid Driver CPC card, and have basic literacy and numeracy skills. Experience with mechanical sweepers and knowledge of health and safety matters are desirable. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to work under pressure, and capable of carrying out manual handling tasks. A flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic approach to work is essential.

Requirements
Full UK Driving License with minimum of Category C1
